Mother’s Day Memory Contest: Complete Terms, Conditions, Legal Framework, Licensing Declarations, and Eternal Creative Agreement

1. Eligibility Statement and Jurisdictional Disclaimer

This contest (hereinafter referred to as “The Contest”) is organized by Pro Expo LV and is open to all humans aged 18 and over, regardless of gender, background, continent, or galaxy, provided they possess both a memory of their mother and an operational recording device.

Employees of Pro Expo LV, their extended families, pets, and sentient chatbots are ineligible to win (but are encouraged to participate for fun).

2. Submission Scope, Duration, Format & Thematic Relevance Clause

Participants must submit one (1) recording — video or audio — up to 60 seconds in length, containing a true, personal memory about their mom or mother figure. Submissions can be funny, touching, tragic, triumphant, or absolutely offbeat — so long as they center around a real person and not, for example, a fictional llama.

Accepted formats include MP4, MP3, heartfelt monologues, tearful confessions, and joyfully mumbled chaos. We accept it all.

Participants may only submit once, but we encourage you to pour your soul into it.

3. Ownership, Licensing, Usage & Galactic Content Rights

Upon submission, you acknowledge and fully, eternally, and joyfully surrender the rights to your entry (including video, audio, text, emotion, tone of voice, facial expressions, background furniture, etc.) to Pro Expo LV and its partners.

You grant us — and anyone we designate — the perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable right to:

  • Reproduce, modify, subtitle, remix, and redistribute your story
  • Use it in marketing, education, outreach, and promotional materials
  • Post it on websites, LED screens, tote bags, TikTok, Instagram Reels, emotional TED Talks, and in awkwardly long marketing emails
  • Translate it into other languages (or interpret it emotionally via interpretive dance)
  • Display it publicly or privately, commercially or spiritually, terrestrially or digitally
  • Use AI to generate cartoon adaptations if we feel like it

You agree that your submission may be used without additional approval, compensation, notification, or emotional closure. You also waive the right to object to edits that make you sound better.

4. Partnerships, External Distribution & The Memory Book Clause

This contest is created in partnership with The Memory Book, a digital legacy project dedicated to preserving personal histories for families and future generations.

By submitting, you grant Pro Expo LV and The Memory Book the right to include your story in future content distributions — including printed memory books, digital archives, collaborative exhibits, and public storytelling campaigns.

Additionally, your submission may be shared with vendors, exhibitors, media partners, sponsors, and other involved organizations for the purpose of expanding reach, honoring memories, and making people cry (in a good way).

We may, for example:

  • Show your story onstage
  • Include it in newsletters
  • Feature it in follow-up campaigns
  • Let a vendor quote you on a mug

You agree to all of this with your whole heart, or at least your checkbox click.

5. Prizes, Notification, Delivery & Unclaimed Glory

One winner will be randomly selected following the conclusion of the LivingWell Senior Expo and notified within 48 hours. Prizes include:

  • ???? Vivida Dermatology Hydrafacial ($160 value)
  • ????️ Gourmet Food Basket ($200 value)

You must respond to the notification within 72 hours, or we will assume you’ve transcended material goods and will offer the prize to someone else.

No cash equivalents. No refunds. No re-gifting to your aunt without prior permission.

6. Data, Consent, Legal Text, and the Box You Didn’t Read

We collect your name, email, and phone number solely to contact you about the contest or cry when we read your story. We do not sell your info, lease it, or hand it to data gnomes.

However, we may store your submission indefinitely, like a digital time capsule of your mom’s awesomeness.

By checking the box, you agree to everything you’ve just read (or scrolled past), and grant us all necessary permissions to use your submission without further notice, including for things we haven’t thought of yet.

7. Final Provisions, Loophole Closures & Existential Closure

We reserve the right to:

  • Change the rules at any time
  • Refuse entries we find inappropriate, AI-generated, hateful, or suspiciously identical to soap opera scripts
  • Cry at your story, post about it, and tag you
  • Add sparkles, filters, slow piano music, or subtitles to your video

By submitting, you enter into a warm, non-binding spiritual contract with us and agree to help us build something beautiful: a moment of memory, a legacy of love, and a little piece of forever in under one minute.
